While no one can say for certain whether Outskirts Press owner Brent Sampson was the coward behind the blog of lies PODdy Mouth, the guess of every other person in the industry is that he was. Who else would write lies about all other self publishing companies and continually promote Outskirts?  It is obvious that the blog was written by a competitor of other self-publishing companies.  Who else would spend all day writing misleading information about every self-publishing except Outskirts?  Two plus two equals…well you know the answer.

Luckily, Poddy Mouth was so transparent, that it blew up in the face of the liar / blogger.  Any legit publishing company doesn’t need to lie about its competitors to get customers. Enough said.

Outskirts Press BUSTED for LYING!!!!!!!!!!

Brent Sampson has finally been busted for lying about his competition.  Outskirts Press can’t get authors honestly, so, he (or his henchmen) created a blog that pretended to be about the industry — yet it published lies about every company, but Outskirts Press.

And now…one of the true watchdogs of the self-publishing industry has busted this blog for being a total fraud.

Another Outskirts Press Author — Mad as Hell

While Outskirts Press lies about other self-publishing companies, its breaching its own contract.  One exasperated author whose book was accepted on 10/7/07 only had a defective galley proof on 3/11/08, the date he cancelled his contract.   The Outskirts Press contract promises publication (not a defective galley proof) within 90 days.  And, the galley copy had 314 mistakes in the first 100 pages.

Why Does Outskirts Press Have to Lie About Its Competitors?

The world of self-publishing is a competitive one.  All companies think that what they have to offer is the best available service.  But, one company, Outskirts Press, actually lies to prospective authors about the services of its competitors.

How pathetic is that?  Not only is it unethical, but it is sad.  Oh…and stupid.  Outskirts Press is careless enough to write the lies in emails.  Many authors want to know if such lies are true and they often email the company that is the subject of the lies to comment.  Since most lies told by Outskirts Press are so blatant, the companies simply point to the correct information on their websites.
